Our initiatives, ongoing and new, help communities, governments and partners to shape safer and secure, healthier and prosperous lives across the world.
We recognise that challenges to wellbeing are not just limited to health. Personal, social, economic and environmental factors determine health outcomes of people and communities. Hence, our models address the interrelationship between these factors, employ a multitude of approaches and focus on outcomes and scale with quality.
Our comprehensive, four-pronged delivery approach promotes health outcomes among the poor.
Innovative Direct Engagement: Community engagement is vital to evolve solutions that ensure positive health outcomes. We respect communities’ deep knowledge of their context, recognise their influence and value them as agents of change. In developing or replicating and scaling up promising models, we tap into their expertise and initiative. We help build their capacities to make informed decisions and take collective action.
Process Consulting: We provide technical and management support to nonprofits and community based organisations. We harness learnings from the field to build their capacities, set up systems and ensure process quality. Here, we do not directly engage with the community. However, the impact is immediate as these organisations use the learnings to inform their work and make sure that services benefit the grassroots communities.
Programme Management: We support donor organisations, bilateral and multilateral agencies, international nonprofit organisations and foundations to shape the change agenda and drive results. Our technical guidance is on strategy execution than operations. We bridge the process gaps that are critical to programme success and delivering the expected outcomes.
Policy Engagement: We facilitate and contribute to the use of research evidence by policy makers, and practitioners and other development actors to influence and shape policy formulation. Our research deepens understanding on what works and why; develops products, technologies and processes that can positively contribute to the poor, and involve communities in the process. We use evidence from the research to foster discussion and influence policy or practice changes.
