Our aim is to reinvent systems that work for all. Our multidisciplinary teams do three things well -
1. Demonstrate scalable, cost effective and sustainable models in partnership with communities
2. Support partners to reach impact and
3. Draw the threads from action research into evidence, learning and action.

Our agenda is to change the way wellbeing pathways are achieved, starting with primary healthcare and tackling social determinants that direct how we experience everyday wellbeing.

This website is a brief testament of our being. Over the years Swasti has been home to several innovations from mapping high-risk groups in Mizoram in 2002 to the #COVIDActionCollab in 2020 - responding to the urgency of protecting the health and wellbeing of our communities.

2002

2002 The Catalyst Group incubates Swasti as a non-profit to work on public health issues.

2002 CMS’ first national level project (under Swasti brand) maps high risk groups in Mizoram.

2002CMS (under Swasti brand) in association with the State AIDS Society conducts a Project Director Induction programme for IAS officers.

2003

2003 Supports Supervision Team to support KSAPS to implement the Prevention and Care HIV program in Karnataka

2004

2004 Swasti is registered as a non-profit health resource centre.

2004 Swasti conducts a high-risk group mapping exercise, based on tools and methodologies, starting in Karnataka, in partnership with CMS. Several of these tools become-national guidelines recognized by governments and international agencies alike.

2005

2005 Swasti partners with a collective of women in sex work (WSW), Swathi Mahila Sangha, to develop an empowerment model. Project Pragati based out of Bangalore - financed by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The success of this was later replicated and scaled across 84 community-based organisation in 2014.

2006

2006 Launches a joint initiative with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust - ‘The Learning Systems’ project - aimed at improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes by developing and maintaining systems for facilitating learning among organisations working in the domain of HIV/AIDS.

2007

2007 Launches a joint initiative with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust - ‘The Learning Systems’ project - aimed at improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes by developing and maintaining systems for facilitating learning among organisations working in the domain of HIV/AIDS.

2008

2008 Expands global footprint to 11 countries through empowering women workers, workplace interventions, in partnership with GAP Inc., and the Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement (PACE) program.

2009

2009 Launches a joint initiative with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust - ‘The Learning Systems’ project - aimed at improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes by developing and maintaining systems for facilitating learning among organisations working in the domain of HIV/AIDS.

2010

2010 Swasti expands its footprint to the 28th State and Union territories in India.

2011

2011 Launches a joint initiative with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust - ‘The Learning Systems’ project - aimed at improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes by developing and maintaining systems for facilitating learning among organisations working in the domain of HIV/AIDS.

2012

2012 Launches a joint initiative with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust - ‘The Learning Systems’ project - aimed at improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes by developing and maintaining systems for facilitating learning among organisations working in the domain of HIV/AIDS.

2013

2013Swasti co-establishes 11 community-led water plants in Chikballapur to address the issue of rampant fluorosis in areas where small holder farmers reside. All 11 are functioning and self-sustained as of 2022.

2013WHO invites Swasti to present their work on health workforce at the 3rd Global HRH conference in Recife, Brasil.

2014

2014 Implements Avahan India AIDS initiative Phase III (2014- 2017) with 84 community organisations reaching 130,000 women sex workers, men who have sex with men (MSM) and transpersons.

2015

2015 Launches a joint initiative with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust - ‘The Learning Systems’ project - aimed at improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes by developing and maintaining systems for facilitating learning among organisations working in the domain of HIV/AIDS.

2016

2016 Launches a joint initiative with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust - ‘The Learning Systems’ project - aimed at improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes by developing and maintaining systems for facilitating learning among organisations working in the domain of HIV/AIDS.

2017

2017 Launches its flagship innovation in comprehensive primary healthcare “Invest for Wellness” (i4We).

2018

2018 Launches a joint initiative with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust - ‘The Learning Systems’ project - aimed at improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes by developing and maintaining systems for facilitating learning among organisations working in the domain of HIV/AIDS.

2019

2019 Reaches more than 200,000 women in 250+ factories, across 20 brands through programmes like Walmart’s Women in Factories, Levi’s Worker Well-Being, GAP’s PACE, Debenham’s Life, BSR’s HER programme, Primark’s My Life, Inditex’s Sakhi and Swasti’s own Invest4Wellness (i4We) programme

2020

2020 Co-incubates the- #COVIDActionCollab (CAC), a pan-India collaborative (with more than 350 partners), providing comprehensive COVID response for the most vulnerable communities.
